2018 La TestaBarrel Aged Vermentino

Vermentino is how we Rolle at RHV and in 2018 the Big Verm Energy we typically see in the vineyard was massively elevated. Perfect grapes, juicy yields, happy ferments; everything lined up to experiment further. Our favorite Verms come from the limestone rich hills of Patramonio, the name La Testa is a nod to Corsica. 

The wine was picked and immediately pressed, racked into barrel where it underwent spontaneous native fermentation, and was then left to slowly age for 4 years with minimal added sulfur dioxide. The result is striking aromatic elegance. White rose petals and lemon blossoms lifted on a Corsican sea breeze into the Mediterranean. Long barrel aged Vermentino magic.
