2020 Big Rabbit Rosé
Built to Spill Wine Presents:
Freddie Gibbs X Forlorn Hope Wines
An internationally orchestrated collaboration. A year in the making. The wine of the year is here, Big Rabbit Rosé.
Freddie Gibbs along with his friend and manager Ben “Lambo” Lambert, have forged their own path in the music industry, while maintaining creativity and integrity, switching up the perspective on how Gangster Rap is marketed, delivered and received. For the pairing of a rapper and a natural wine, none could be more legitimate than Freddie Gibbs & Forlorn Hope with Built to Spill Wine.
In early 2020, before pandemics and global shutdowns and while on tour in Europe, Freddie posted a photo drinking a bottle of cult Jura icon; Jean-Francois Ganevat. This caught the eye of Australian-based wine entrepreneur, and huge Gibbs fan, Tai Tate, who was due to see the rapper perform a few weeks later in Sydney.
Over the following months Tai started a new natural wine and music enterprise, with eyes on landing the first rap collab with Freddie and Lambo, releasing a wine in the US, at the same time as releasing in Australia. After getting the green light from Lambo, Tai sought out the the help of close friends, and well-established Californian winemakers; Forlorn Hope.
To create something truly original, Matt and Danielle took inspiration from that Europe tour, using only Jura-varietals to create the Big Rabbit Rosé, made up of Pinot, Chardonnay & Jura-native; Trousseau. After Freddie and Lambo sampled and approved the blend, we bottled a limited run, which we now offer to you.
As with all Forlorn Hope wines, the Big Rabbit Rosé was made with organically farmed fruit, native yeast fermented with no additives other than a bit of sulfur. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
